I'm a part of a Writer's Guild. This is a private guild composed of myself and a few others. We have a similar family dynamic to the Hot Asian D&D crew, but it's much more tight-knit. I happen to be closer to the Writer's Guild because we have workshopped each other's work. Our strong bond could be due to most of our writing works being creative nonfiction. Stylized writing mixed with deeply personal situations makes for intense emotional connections. Not to say we haven't written standard fiction as well. I mean, this is all from my personal perspective. So, in actuality, I'm just closer to the Writer's Guild because I've known them longer and spent more time with them.
The similar family dynamic mentioned earlier all starts with the dad of this group, Patrick. He's much older than the rest of us and literally a dad. The rest of us in the group are like his wayward children, siblings that co-exist in the same virtual home. I'm the sibling that stays in my room staring at my phone, only coming out to say random memes and disappear again. Jenny is the eldest daughter that's always tired because she works, goes to school, and helps with her younger siblings. (Think Franky from Foster's Homes for Imaginary Friends.) Ray, Emily, and Laci are like the middle siblings that are coasting through misadventures. (Think Ned's declassified level realism funniness.) Dee and I are the little siblings that just sit in our rooms playing with dolls and creating our own worlds all day.
We actually don't write much in the Writer's Guild. We try, but writing is hard, man... We sometimes just want a place to exist without worrying about home life, work, school, etc.
A few members (the middle siblings) did come together and make an editorial team, (yet another misadventure) so whenever we do write we can get our work edited. Check out the site here!
